The Old Inn

The Old Inn is a beautifully preserved Newari building in the heart of Bandipur. Situated on the old Trans-Himalayan trade routes between India to the south and Tibet to the north, The Old Inn likely has a great many stories to tell. Indeed, this small, characterful hotel has a real sense of faded grandeur which only adds to its charm. There are no frills here, just clean and comfortable rooms with delicious home-cooked meals and fabulous views over the countryside to the high mountains.

Rooms at The Old Inn are simple but oozing with character and history. Low ceilings with beams, flagstone floors and intricate wooden shutters along with hand-carved furniture give a real sense of the Newari heritage the hotel is preserving. Bathrooms are small but there is a decent supply of hot water. The restaurant serves mouth-watering Nepali dishes as well simple western dishes. The views from the outdoor eating area at the back of the property are wonderful.
