The largest of the three hotels that comprise Shangri-La's Barr Al Jissah Resort and Spa, Al Waha is an excellent base from which to explore the many attractions and facilities the resort has to offer and is particularly accommodating to families. Looking out across the sea of Oman, the hotel is found in the bay of Al Jissah, backed by a craggy mountain range and reached through a man-made tunnel.
Families will find plenty to keep the kids entertained, particularly younger children, with the 'Little Turtles' kid's club on offer. Al Waha translates to 'The Oasis' and the hotel easily lives up to its name boasting a number of swimming pools, including a splash pad play area and main pool. With a beautifully temperate climate there's nothing better than to relax poolside or in the water. Al Waha is also linked by a lazy river to the pool of Al Bandar, one of the resort's other hotels.
Al Waha is distinctively Arabic and characterised by Dhofari style and architecture. The well-appointed rooms are modern with colours reflecting the natural landscape. There are a total of 262 rooms split into a number of categories, including family rooms and luxurious specialty suites. From all room types guests can look out upon the sea from the comfort of their rooms, private patio or balcony.
Around 45 minutes from Muscat airport.
Snorkelling, diving, mini-golf, kids diving and sailing along with all of the facilities offered at the resort.
