Honeymoon to South Africa & Mozambique
Caroline Duffy, 28th February 2022We had such a lovely trip. It was so seamless from start to finish. Logistics, communications, kindness, promptness etc were fantastic! It made it EASY to go on this highly COMPLEX trip while planning a wedding (and not to mention answering all of our COVID questions!). We were able to just "show up" and enjoy!! I provided a 4 because I would've like more information up front of what to expect. Personally, I like a lot of detail and like to know what to expect. In the itinerary, it would've been nice to be given the schedule at the safari for example. A mock "day in the life" would've be nice! I would've liked to know that we were sharing a safari car (or at least knew up front that that could happen). When picking the all inclusive-type hotels, it would be nice to see a mock up "menu". Just little details that could've shaped expectations and gotten us even more excited for the trip! Any specific airport instructions, what to look for when you land for your private transfer, etc. It's all obvious once you get there, but we don't know what we don't know (and don't know what to ask sometimes) so more detail would've been appreciated to paint a better picture of what to expect going in. Idea: provide visibility into previous traveler reviews on various properties.

“Absolutely gorgeous country! So much variety to see and do. Perfect place for honeymooners that want a mix of adventure/hiking, some city, views, fine dining, some relaxation and once in a lifetime experiences (safari!).”
Mozambique
“Lovely country! Very remote and underdeveloped. There wasn't much to do or see in Vilanculos but we were very happy to stay at the villa and relax. People were unbelievably kind! However, I would not describe Mozambique as a luxury experience. You are picked up in an open air truck with other passengers and driven 30+ minutes through the sand to get to your villa, etc.”

“Absolutely fantastic. I would recommend Chitwa Chitwa over and over! The service was fantastic, the grounds were beautiful and we had the best luck and guides seeing the Big 5 (over and over) and more! The rooms were HUGE. Very comfortable beds, lovely patio and plunge pool. We saw 20+ elephants from our patio - really a unique experience! Service/dining was fantastic. Lots of variety and options! I love how they moved us around each night to eat in different places. We loved the surprise group dinner under the stars on the last night!!! However, if someone prioritized a spa, I would not recommend Chitwa Chitwa. The spa could be improved. I got a pedicure and it was pretty bad - paint all over my skin, etc... The atmosphere could also be improved. The lodge is so beautiful and the spa just does not match the rest of the experience. The water pressure was really poor (took about 45 minutes to fill the bath tub, hard to shower with longer hair). The internet was not strong. None of these items really affected our trip, but some travelers might want to know these things!”
Santorini Mozambique
“We have stayed in many beautiful/fancy/over the top hotels/resorts. But Villa Santorini is our absolute favorite hotel of all time. It feels wrong calling it a hotel. Though it might not be the fanciest or the most luxury, the "vibe" is just perfect. Transparently, the cost seems extremely high, but I'm happy we didn't overthink it. It felt like we rented a private villa fully staffed with the most exceptional service people. Though there were 2-3 other couples there, the layout of the villa was absolutely wonderful - you really felt like you had the place to yourselves with the multiple pools, seating areas, dining areas, etc. The spa was also beautiful! We really appreciated the snorkeling trip - that was a fantastic addition. Thank you! We would highly recommend it - perfect half day trip to get out and about. We also did not expect the absolutely exceptional culinary experience. Each day, multiple course meals, plated to perfection. The quality was unbelievable (fresh fish, meat, vegetables, etc). We were really blown away by the dining experience. The wifi was strong. The double shower heads and strong water pressure was also very appreciated! The staff was absolutely wonderful. We truly felt sad leaving this piece of perfection at the end of the trip.”

“We had a great experience with Mahlatini and would continue to recommend your services. We started with Monique and ended with Natasha, and they were both wonderful - prompt, kind, etc. As noted above, I am the type of traveler who likes a lot of detail. This is my first time using a travel agent. I usually plan our trips, so I'm aware of each detail going in. I think there are easy ways to set expectations and provide more detail before the trip begins. Ex: In the itinerary, it would've been nice to be given the schedule at the safari for example. A mock "day in the life" would've be nice! I would've liked to know that we were sharing a safari car (or at least knew up front that that could happen). I also would've liked to know how long the transfers were. I had no idea we had a 3.5 hour drive to the airport coming back from our safari to go to Mozambique. That ended up being a 12 hour travel day when I expected a quick 3-4 hours.
