Adventure Holiday to Zimbabwe & Botswana
Alex Raeber, 13th March 2022After two years of waiting for this trip due to COVID-19, we finally made it. The overall rating would have been a five star if there would not have been a number a re-routings in our journey due to a grounded airline in South Africa which forced us to travel by ground transportation across the border from Zambia to Zimbabwe. This was not fun at all and then continued the next day by car to the first camp in Zimbabwe instead of being flown in by light aircraft. After all this, the trip became better and better with fantastic game viewing, very friendly and professional hosts and attentive staff in the hotel and lodges.

“Victoria Falls was definitely a highlight of our trip and the Ilala Lodge is perfectly situated within walking distance to the falls. Plenty to explore around the falls including an awesome helicopter flight and an unforgettable Zambezi sunset dinner cruise. Game viewing in the Hwange National Park was plentiful and the lush forests and green lands did not prevent viewing of abundant wild life. People were always cheerful, laughing and very friendly.”
Botswana
“The Okavango delta is an absolutely marvellous place for wildlife and we had some of the most impressive game viewing in any National Park we have visited, with several lionesses feeding their young cubs and roaring male lions, and even sightings of a leopard. People were overall friendly, helpful and with a professional attitude.”

“Great camp with a unique African atmosphere, very comfortable and stylish tents and very high quality food. Our guide 'TK' was outstanding with a huge knowledge of the fauna and flora in the park, always willing to answer our questions and sharing his experience and knowledge with us. Also the other hosts and staff were very friendly, personal and easy going.”
Ilala Lodge Hotel
“Very pretty hotel in an African style close to the Victoria Falls. Our executive suite was wonderful with plenty of room, all the amenities you could think of and attentive staff. The restaurant experience was excellent for dinner and ok for breakfast.”
Rra Dinare Camp
“Rra Dinare was lower in terms of luxury compared to the other camp we stayed in Zimbabwe. The overall atmosphere of the camp could easily be improved by giving more attention to interior details making it a bit more attractive. The host 'Tiny', was clearly standing out in terms of friendliness, professionalism and personality while most of the remaining staff were doing their job. The guides were doing a good job and the wildlife experience was clearly out of this world, including a very enjoyable Mokoro safari on the waterways.”
