Honeymoon to South Africa & Mozambique
Nicholas Ponzo, 26th June 2022We overall loved our honeymoon. We saw all of the Big 5 within our first 24 hours on safari. We have nothing but amazing things to say about Chitwa Chitwa and the staff there. The beaches in Mozambique were beautiful and overall we had a wonderful experience here and enjoyed our excursions.

“InterContinental was super convenient for a quick stay. After a long flight it was wonderful to relax in a clean, safe, and comfortable hotel. The wine and chocolates were a very nice surprise. Food and drinks at the hotel were perfectly fine.”
Chitwa Chitwa Private Game Lodge
“We LOVED Chitwa Chitwa. Accommodations and staff were absolutely wonderful. Every meal was incredible. We loved our guide and saw so many animals!”
Azura Benguerra Island
“Food and staff was wonderful. Beautiful sunsets each nights and excursions were easy to plan and coordinate. Villas were a little outdated and could use some TLC. Outdoor shower was infested with ants daily, pool was missing several tiles, large chips in the paint throughout the villa, and the room was pretty smelly. Just not quite the level of accommodations we expected. We did feel as though Azura was constantly looking to try to up-charge and get you to order drinks that were not included.”

“Caroline did a wonderful job planning our trip and providing us with most of the information we needed. We were most disappointed we were not presented with the option to fly from Sabi Sands to Kruger. Another family at Chitwa Chitwa was on the same departing flight from Kruger. They flew 30 minutes from our game lodge and got to have an extra game drive, while we woke up extra early and had a three hour drive. We looked into the flight pricing and we would have gladly done this, had we had the chance. The tip guideline we were sent by Mahlatini was 4 times less than what Chitwa Chitwa gave us. We felt completely caught off guard and unprepared. We also felt we were unprepared for how cold the mornings were for the drives, we didn't know we'd be heading out as early as we did. It also would have been very helpful to know that Chitwa Chitwa included daily laundry while Azura charged a large fee for this service. Knowing this information would have greatly helped us to pack.”
