Michael Ignaczak, 15th April 2023The flight was not really enjoyable because people don't know how to use the restrooms. It would have been better to start with Mara and then go to Samburu. It was not ideal to switch camps on a birthday.

“It's a really wow camp. The staff are really inviting and open-hearted from the pickup until we had to leave. Everything was perfect. Nicole has a fantastic team. When we had to say goodbye, we left a family behind.”

“The welcome at this camp was not really welcoming. Most of the food was salty. Sometimes they disappeared and we had to take care of the fireplace. The manager Chris was most interested in us knowing the rules for tipping. The lady from the spa was wonderful and our guide Tinka was fabulous. Going from Samburu to Mara is like going from 5 stars to 3 stars. It's a nice base camp.”
Baraza Resort and Spa
“The ambiance is fantastic - like 100% at night. The staff is different. The first hostess Angela welcomed us but didn't show up to show us the resort as agreed. We had to ask for the whirlpool to be put on at the villa every day, sometimes with a 1 1/2 hour delay. We got briefed about the dress code for dinner but other guests showed up in shorts and muscle shirts and were noisy on the phone during dinner. Very disappointing.
On the second day, we got sick from the ice cubes in our water that we had ordered. We had stomach issues for the rest of the stay and had to skip some meals. After we went back for lunch one day, the restaurant manager told my wife that she could see it wasn't faking. She still has stomach issues today. The manager from the resort was not too concerned as well. The spa was really good and the cleaning staff for the room was fantastic.”
