“This place is so quaint and steeped in history. Beautiful settings, and unbelievable food!!! 5 stars for that! The staff were amazing and went out of their way to make our trip for David's 60th extra special. Breakfast in the bush is something else... hot food and a chef! The animals are more difficult to spot due to the big trees and thick bush and it gives the guides more of a challenge to find them for us.”

“Another great camp, although a lot more basic, being in a tent. My only criticism was that the water in the tents was provided in thermos flasks with crystal glasses. One was for drinking water and one was not. Unfortunately for me, I took my malaria tablets with the non-drinking water, and by the last day, I was unable to eat or drink due to sickness and an upset stomach. The easy solution would be to provide bottled water or clearly mark the flasks. The food was good again, and the ranger went above and beyond to ensure we saw the Big 5. I preferred the open plains here for the ease of spotting animals, especially in such massive herds. The hot air balloon ride was absolutely exceptional!”

“Nice hotel, though the rooms were a little dark inside, especially in the bathroom area. In fact, I couldn’t use my contact lenses here as I couldn’t see well enough to put them in. The pool area was stunning, with a lovely bar, and the breakfast buffet was fantastic. My criticism is regarding the set meal night, where there were only 3 choices: one starter was seared tuna, and the 3 main courses were seared tuna, ostrich, or breadcrumbed cauliflower. Needless to say, none of us ate anything but salad and bread. However, the beach bar for lunch served fantastic food. There were too many local traders on the beach to make it enjoyable to actually get to the sea or take a walk. Another odd thing about the room was that it only had 1 chair, and our outside deck had no sunbed. When we enquired, we were told that only about 4 rooms had them. However, upon walking around, it was obvious nearly every room had one. As a result, we didn’t use our outside area at all, as we’re probably too old to be comfortable in a hammock!”
