Upendo House
“We selected Upendo because of its location in the heart of Stonetown and its cute rooftop pool and restaurant which was lovely. We enjoyed Stonetown and the city tour, food experiences, etc. The staff was friendly and the room was simple but nicely decorated. It's definitely a 4 star at best. The downside of the location is the noise as there is a lot of building work going on and the rooms are not sound proof.”

“A stunning resort! I loved the 'jungle feel' and the grounds. It's probably the best strip of beach at Kendwa. Yoga was fabulous each day, the food was superb, and there were countless daily and sunset activities. We enjoyed the sunset Dhow cruise. The staff are all super friendly. The guests didn't really mingle and there were quite a few post-safari honeymooners and couples, so it wouldn't be great for a solo traveler wanting to meet people. The bungalow was lovely, spotless, and well-equipped. Our only criticism is that the bathroom area is quite dark.”
