From the moment we landed in Cape Town we were blown away by the treatment we received, being fast tracked through every airport, hosted by such stunning hotels who all went above and beyond knowing that it was our honeymoon. I think it's a testament to the trip that we left every place wishing that we had one or two more days in each spot, but at least that means we are eager to come back in the near future. Mahlatini made the trip what it was, with such great recommendations and tips along the way + taking any stress away from us during the booking / planning stage.

Kensington Place
“What a start, perfectly positioned for what we wanted to do - Table Mountain, Camps Bay, Lions Head... all within 10mins in an Uber. The hotel itself felt so secure and well-run. The staff were so helpful and kind, a really great start, helping us to relax into our trip and helping us organize a last minute excursion to Boulders Beach. The food was amazing, so much so that we have asked for a couple of their recipes! We were treated like royalty, in every way, including the surprise rose petals and cap classique in our room on our last evening.”
Mont Rochelle Hotel
“Probably more than the other spots, we wish we had one or two more days here, stunning scenery around the hotel, great service, great food, and such a lovely overall stay. From Siya driving us around the village and making us laugh, to Effort guiding us through a fantastic wine tasting. We both agreed that when we come back to Mont Rochelle, we will make sure we have enough time to spend lazy days at the hotel + inquisitive walks around the town. What a spot, and again, we were blown away by the Honeymoon treats in our room on arrival!”
Simbavati River Lodge
“Neither Sophie or I had been on a proper safari before, and we didn't know what to expect from Simbavati. To start with, we weren't thinking that we would be lucky enough to go on a drive on our first afternoon, considering we arrived around 3pm, how wrong were we. From the first minute, everything was taken care of by the staff, to ensure that we had the best time and to make sure that we got to experience as much of the wildlife as possible. We had multiple guests visit our room - elephants, warthogs, bushbucks, impala... it was so surreal to be honest. Martin and Stiff were so informative on the drives, and they made sure we were always in the right place at the right time. Justice was always ready with a cold drink and some tasty meals, we were never left unsatisfied with any aspect of the stay. It took a couple of days to get used to the drinking water...but that was a small price to pay for such an amazing visit. We've been asked by many people what our highlight of the trip was, and I always say Simbavati, without hesitation. To top it off with a private dinner, including a close encounter with a hyena, what an evening that was. We would love to come back in the future, such a stunning lodge.”

“One night in Joburg as we waited for our flight to Mauritius. The hotel was surprisingly nice, and easily accessible. Nice big bed, great facilities, and a good chance to catch up on some sleep before continuing on with our trip.”

“What a place to spend the last few days of our honeymoon. A beautiful hotel, right on the water. A perfect room after the safari - a huge bed, big bathroom, and 100m from the sunbeds on the beach! The hotel staff, again, were amazing, they made us feel so special and a big thanks to Keshan for setting up a romantic dinner for us. We didn't want to do much at Mauritius, we saw this as a chance to relax and recharge before heading home. That being said, the golf on Iles Aux Cerf was something special, what a place, and perhaps next time we will need to spend a day on the beach there. And a big thanks to the night crew for sorting us a takeaway breakfast for our sunrise hike up La Morne. A spectacular island, and one we will 100% want to come back to.”
