“Natasha has been wonderful throughout. However, I would like to share a couple of things.

When we landed in Cape Town, we were met at the airport. However, our understanding was that the representative would assist us through passport control. Although we were met, we were simply told to queue, and the representative said they would wait for our luggage (though we’re not sure how they intended to collect it, as they wouldn’t have known what to look for). As a result, we waited quite a long time to get through passport control and then still had to assist with the luggage. Our flight had already been particularly stressful due to a passenger passing away onboard, so we were feeling fairly anxious.

Throughout our trip, the name listed was Major/Lithauer, even though they were only joining us at Thornybush. At Leeu House, we were registered as Mr Major and Mrs Lithauer, and we had to explain that this was not who I was.

Also, when we left Thornybush and travelled to Johannesburg, we were not met by any representative—although Paul and Jo Lithauer were. This made it difficult to work out the airport procedures, and we had been advised that this service would be provided.

While none of this impacted our overall enjoyment of the holiday, I do feel these points let down the otherwise five-star experience. This trip was to celebrate our special birthdays, so we had really hoped for a flawless holiday.”
