Holiday to Tanzania & Kenya
Jonathan Elias, 6th June 2025It was the trip of a lifetime. Natasha at Mahlatini took care of EVERYTHING!! From the flights, to the transfers, the greetings at the airports, and to the most amazing places to stay while on safari. There were no miscues, no mistakes, it was perfectly planned and executed. I have been bragging to my friends since returning home about my experience. I wish I could give 10 stars instead of just 5.

Accommodation Visited
The Bentley Luxury Hotel and Suites
Elewana Arusha Coffee Lodge
“This was our first night on our vacation, and what a great way to get things started. This lodge has such a great vibe. The people are all so helpful and kind. The food here is fantastic. We ate in the bar area because we found that space more intimate and just fun. There are shops to browse when you have some free time. There is always someone there to help you with any of your needs, including a cool drink. Loved this place.”
The Highlands Ngorongoro
“This camp is just special. It's tucked away high in the mountains, but the ride to it is well worth it. The staff here are amazing and they all work so hard. From the chef who prepared wonderful meals, to our bartender/waiter. He was always there to make sure we had everything we needed. The chef meets with you daily to run down his ideas for the day and make sure you are happy with his choices. His choices on the two nights we were there were absolutely wonderful. Our guide for this camp was Zawadi. A wonderful woman with the most positive, upbeat outlook. We started our early mornings with a smile on our faces thanks to her. As for her ability to guide, she was stellar. It was clear that she loves the animals that she is taking you to see, and knows everything about them. We learned so much from her, and saw so many great things. The managers of the camp are fantastic as well. Constantly making sure everything is running smoothly and checking in with everyone to see if they can do anything to enhance a person's stay. Again, five stars are not enough.”
Asilia Dunia Camp
“Wow, what can you say? When you wake up to a distant lion roaring before the sun breaks the horizon, you know you've come to the right place. A camp run by all women, and they are all rock stars. First, the tent. The bed was cozy, and the view was that of the Serengeti. You can't beat that. Stunning from every angle. Our waitress was the sweetest, hardest-working woman who by the second day knew exactly what you wanted before even asking. She was a rock star. Our guide here was Hosiana. She was so much fun, and so knowledgeable. In fact she has been a mentor and guide for many young women who want to become safari guides. Since only 10 percent of all the guides are women, that says a lot about the work she does. It's clear she loves the animals that she takes you to see, and it's amazing someone can have that much information locked inside their heads when it comes to all the different animals and birds. She's special. The managers at this camp also made sure to check in daily to see that we were having fun, and not in need of a thing. The chef here was also amazing. Some of the dishes had my wife asking for, and getting recipes for a few dishes that were beyond delicious. This is a must-visit camp.”
Asilia Rekero Camp
“This was our last camp to visit, and yes, I believe it's true we saved the best for last. First, the view from this camp is above a river where hippos are wading in the deeper parts. The food here was fantastic, and you are free to order whatever you'd like, and as much as you'd like.
The staff across the board are hardworking, dedicated, and incredibly helpful. The managers, there are two, were constantly on the prowl to make sure everything was running smoothly. It is clear they set the bar very high, and everyone has no problem leaping way over it. Our waiter was incredible. We never wanted for anything, at any time. Really inspiring customer service.
Our guide was a Maasai local, Surooney. This guy is next level. He has a sixth sense for tracking down wildlife that doesn't want to be found. You name the animal, and he will find it. What a pleasure it was to spend days in the safari car listening to Surooney tell us about the different animals and their habits or traits. He is a wildlife whisperer. If you go to Rekero, you really should ask for Surooney.
We were sad to leave this place. Do yourself a favor and spend a minimum of three nights here, heck five is even better. Loved our time at Rekero.”
Hemingways Nairobi
“The rooms are spacious and beautiful. The hotel is an oasis in Nairobi. The food was fantastic, the service was great, and the folks taking care of our room did such a nice job. You will be thankful you chose Hemingways when staying in Nairobi.”
Staff Review
“10 stars. Natasha was AMAZING! We had tons of questions, and she had tons of answers. We were hesitant at first, but she calmly walked us through what we would see, and what we could expect. It was clear she'd been to all these places and recommended them because she loved them. Well, her instincts are spot on, because we came away loving them too. She organized every aspect of our trip, and honestly there is nothing we missed, and nothing we didn't see. It was phenomenal. I can't thank Natasha and the Mahlatini team enough. The only thing I can do, and am doing...is posting my pictures and telling my story in hopes my friends will give Natasha a call and say, "We want to get what Jon got."”
