Victoria & Alfred Hotel
“Great accommodations, fabulous central location and excellent food!
Our tour guide, "Edlein" was superb and set the bar very high, as he was engaging and knowledgeable sharing a lot about the history in Cape Town and South Africa!”
Batonka Guest Lodge
“The food was very good and offered many local cuisine choices, the rooms were fine although the doors seemed to not fit all that well. The guide who met us at the airport "Judy" was a disappointment, in fact she said she booked on something and never followed through she'd get a 2 out of 10; However "Proper" who did most of the tours and driving, was much better and was able to assist us well he'd get a 7 out of 10.”
Fairmont The Norfolk Hotel
“This was truly a remarkable property, and we wish we'd had more time there. The richness and history were evident, and the rooms, staff, and food were superb! The tour guide here was "Christopher" and he was not the greatest, not very forthcoming with information, so 5 out of 10.”
Saruni Samburu
“Built right into the rock face of the mountain this was a memorable property. The food choices and preparation were the best we experienced in the Bush! There was quite a bit of climbing involved getting to and from our villa, so that should be noted for those unable to negotiate that terrain (we had No issues). Overall, we rated this a "B". Our guide at Samburu "Martin" was very good. 8 out of 10”
Saruni Wild
“A step below Samburu in terms of accommodations, but the tents were well managed and maintained. The food preparation was also a step below Samburu and we rated this a "C", acceptable, nothing special. Our guide at Wild "Daniel" was the best guide we had through our journey. 10 out of 10.”
Lemala Osonjoi Lodge
“These accommodations were simply superb and easily received our highest rating "A", this was like a high end lodge in Aspen, plush and comfortable! The food however left much to be desired, maybe the main chef was off that weekend, but the food did not measure up to the accommodations or ambiance. Our guide "Godfrey" was probably the least acceptable guide during our journey, not very engaging and we had to "pull" information from him. 5 out of 10.”
Lemala Mara Tented Camp
“The accommodations here were quite basic, easily the lowest level we experienced, the tent floors were a bit "pitched" and the there were "0" food options, they served what they served. We rated this camp a "D"
Our guide however "Samson" was awesome! 8 out of 10.”
