Whitney Chambers, 9th January 2026Another trip of a lifetime. This is our second time using Mahlatini and every detail was perfectly planned and executed. We never had to wonder if our transfer would be on time, they were always early and waiting for us with a smile.

“Clean, safe, so close to the airport, and comfortable after a long 16 hour flight from the USA to Johannesburg. We were just there for a quick night but was a great landing spot to rest before safari.”
Kambaku Safari Lodge
“Loved the staff! Renee, Craig, and Holiday… We did not get to spend enough time with them but thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We felt like family while also having a great level of customer service. Renee and staff went out of their way to make sure I had a great birthday despite the horrible rain and cyclone that descended upon us. Cannot wait to go back and get the FULL experience.”

“We were evacuated here and due to time constraints, this was kind of the only place that made sense while not totally messing up our itinerary. With that being said, the animal sightings were good but the safari vehicles held 24 people plus the guide. The kids screamed and were loud, the other people did not listen to the guides and it was overall not a great experience. Especially after spending time with Kambaku staff on those game drives. This place felt like Disneyland on safari. Would not recommend and would NEVER return.”

“I want to bottle all the staff and bring them home with us. It was the perfect level of customer service, friendly staff, and making you feel like family while a guest in their lodge. Perfect location in the rainforest. Beautiful views. Our bungalow was immaculately clean and always ready for us to return to after a trek through the rainforest. Wish we could have stayed here a month. Food was excellent. And another birthday celebration and surprise complete with singing, dancing, and drums. The entire staff spoiled us and made us feel so special.”

“This trip was a WILD ride. We experienced a cyclone outside Kruger National Park and about halfway through our week long safari we had to be evacuated from one camp to another on higher ground. And then the next day we had to be evacuated completely. We were devastated to leave Kambaku but was a decision that had to be made. Owner of Kambaku (Nicola), someone (I cannot remember his name from Cape Town office), and Claire were all able to work together to get us safely out of the flood zones. Again, from transfers to airports to flights, everything was perfect and got us to safety quickly. It was such a tough decision to make to leave Kruger early but the entire Mahlatini team took such good care of us. Also, Uganda had a communications blackout due to presidential elections, and Claire went out of her way to email family back home to make sure everyone knew we were safe in Uganda despite not being able to communicate. Claire checked in on us regularly and made sure we felt safe and well taken care of. Cannot say enough about the level of customer service we experienced even while dealing with a lot of circumstances outside our control.”
