Honeymoon to Kenya & Tanzania
Jonathan Sprague & Shareen Yew, 5th July 2016This was by far the most amazing trip we have had as befits our honeymoon. The level of care/ hospitality by each of our hosts (at Lewa Safari camp and Elephant Pepper, as well as Cheli & peacock ground staff) was top notch, and we never wanted for anything. The itinerary was well thought out by Claire and it was great to not have to figure out what we wanted to do while on the trip.

“This review relates to the Lewa and Masai Mara safari conservancies and natural parks as we did not have as much of an opportunity to explore Nairobi. The safari was amazing - it really was great to be in the natural habitat of the gorgeous wildlife, and to see how much care and effort goes into conserving and preserving that environment. The conservancies and natural parks, as well as the David Sheldrick Elephant orphanage were just simply an illustration of all of that effort and care.”

“This review relates only to the little piece of Zanzibar we saw - the Breezes resort and travel to and from the airport as we did not have enough time to travel to stone town and do other tours. The beach stretch was gorgeous and untouched and simply wonderful. Certain sections of the road heading to the resort appeared to be undergoing road works so it seemed like a lot of positive development was occurring in the city.”

“Very different from the other safari camps but the rooms were spacious, with luxury bathrooms and walk in wardrobe - all the staff were hospitable, and they even went to the trouble of setting up a romantic sign congratulating us on our honeymoon. We were only there one night and a few hours after that on transit in the day room.”
Elewana Lewa Safari Camp
“This was luxury safari-ing at its best - Sasha and Tam were the best hosts with all their staff, and our driver Daniel and bush ranger for our walk Nkoilete were so knowledgeable and had such great eyes. Even when the camp got really busy (full house our last night there), we never felt neglected in anyway, and felt well cared for. Best sundowners too while we were there, and we were able to sight amazing wildlife including wild dogs and a lion chase among other things. Best "tent" as well and one morning, we woke up to elephants running up towards a waterhole right outside of our tent. Food and drink were so good at the camp as well. The hosts were so kind as to give us a complimentary massage as well as champagne for our honeymoon, as well as we dined at a different location each night, which is amazing and added to our experience. Loved Lewa Safari Camp. The pool was a wonderful surprise as well and so great for in between game drives.”

“Our hosts did not know we were on our honeymoon but upon mention, they immediately moved us into the honeymoon tent which was amazing. The tent was larger than our NYC apartment and had an amazing hammock right outside. The whole bush camp idea was really great. As the only guests at camp the three nights there, we ate meal after meal with our wonderful hosts, Patrick and Sophie who were so personable and knowledgeable about wildlife and generally life in the bush. We were able to see so much wild life behaviour at the Masai Mara, and every day brought a different scene. One of the nights was my birthday, and they really made it very special with a private dinner on our patio as well as a huge cake. The full day drive should have felt long, but was so exciting and seeing the wild cats and rangers (there were rangers tracking a celebrity cheetah!) was just an amazing experience all round.”

“Great end to our safari holiday on an allinclusive island resort - the rooms were smaller than our tents but it was facing the beach and we had the best sun rise to photograph. So relaxing - wish we could have stayed one extra night.”
