Honeymoon to Kenya & Mauritius

“Hotel was beautiful, and large areas of the coastline were also. National parks were spectacular, but the towns we visited during our stay were not quite what were expecting. Travel brochures only ever show white beaches and palm trees, which were plentiful, but don't give an accurate representation of the rest of the island.”

Kichwa Tembo Tented Camp
“The staff were all very friendly, and went to a lot of trouble to make our stay special. As they knew it was our honeymoon, they arranged romantic meals specially for us, and showed a real pride in their work deservedly. The camp itself is also spectacular. We had a "Superior view tent", which was stunning, and looked out over the savannah. We saw a great deal of wildlife from our tent, both within and without the camp, and the resident warthogs and monkeys were particularly delightful. Food was excellent, and although we were slightly concerned about vegetarian options for my wife our concerns were allayed. There were always delicious vegetarian and meat options, and because it is a buffet style restaurant you can easily pick and choose what you want. The added bonus of a dedicated waiter to make sure that everything was alright with meals, and who learned our preferences and catered for them very early on, was fantastic, Delivery of coffee, tea etc. to the tent first thing before game drives was also a lovely touch. Our room was kept spotless throughout, despite our best efforts, by the lovely and thoughtful butler, who was always careful to ensure he did not disturb or interrupt us while carrying out his work.
The guides we had during our stay were fantastic, and both displayed a great knowledge and insight into the wildlife. We went on a walking safari as well as the normal trucks, which was an amazing experience, and also gave us a chance to learn more about the local flora and how the Maasai use indigenous plants for day to day activities, which was fascinating.”

“The hotel was quite pleasant inside, but a little daunting on the outside. We were told that the building had previously been the American embassy, and if felt like they had retained all of the security checkpoints from those days! While this was good, it did make one slightly uneasy. Staff were all very pleasant, and the room was well kept. Room service was reasonable and prompt, and the restaurant served quite good food from the a-la-carte menu although the buffet left something to be desired.”

“The grounds and rooms are beautiful, and the staff cannot do enough for you. The food was incredible throughout, and the staff in the restaurants very polite, friendly, and willing to assist and suggest drinks and courses. The inclusion of a lot of activities was also excellent, and we enjoyed a great variety of things from sea kayaking to nature walks and breathing classes without extra cost. Concierge service was also excellent, and provided brilliant service when we had cause to use them to hire a car. The inclusion of room service in the half board plan was also a nice addition, and gave us the choice to be lazy some days!”

“Our room was stunning, and the grounds of the hotel and other hotel buildings were also very impressive. Staff were very friendly, and the food in the restaurant was good. We didn't really stay long enough to appreciate the hotel fully however, as we only had the room for a day layover in Nairobi.”

“Donna was excellent throughout, both during the initial planning of the trip and later conversations. She was very willing to accommodate our requests for many quotes for variations in hotels, and even countries, when we were not exactly sure where we wanted to go, and offered helpful suggestions and advice when we needed it. Above all, she was incredibly friendly and approachable, and really made us feel at ease throughout. This was, far and away, the most expensive holiday we have ever been on, but it was worth every penny. Everything was organised perfectly by Donna, and we could not have asked for a better time while we were away!”
