“when we got to our 3 bed apt in De Waterkant we were very disappointed. The apt was number was 202P - it was grubby more like 1/5 and not luxury accommodation at all! The apt was located at the back next to the road, prison like. We felt very unsafe as the apt was situated near the main road. not nice. not a good start! thankfully mahlatini (nikki o hare) moved us to carradale 403 at the waterfront. beautiful, modern, 3 bed apt. close to everything!5/5 star. fyi wifi in apt was extra but we were happy to be wifi less on holidays.”
Mosaic Private Sanctuary
“the lodge at mosaic is stunning. A real gem. 5 star accommodation, the food 5 star - absolutely amazing. staff, and personal guide were so friendly and helpful. quad biking and swimming in the lagoon from the boat a highlight. unfortunately no whales as we were there in dec. probably best to go may-nov.”
Spier Hotel
“spier accomadation was fine a little run down but beds and shower were great. hotel was nice and swimming pool and breakfast good. wifi great which kids were delighted about. Segway tour was booked out so id recommend you book Segway tour of winelands before you get there. we did however manage to get on the Segway sunset tour - a lot more expensive so book the regular one in advance. the wine tasting was very disappointing at spier. id recommend clients to book elsewhere for real wine tasting. in hunter valley Australia we had a good wine tasting experience in their vineyards - expert giving talk with real knowledge and education. spier was poor in comparison.”
“we stayed in the 2 bedroom suite with private plunge pool and direct viewing of the water hole. Each day elephants, zebra, impala, kudos, baboons would come to drink. magical. this was our first safari and the 2 game drives were fantasic. we had a great ranger (marie) and tracker (holiday)and saw rhino. lions, lion cubs, cheetahs, giraffes, zebra, elephants etc... (no leopards as they haven't been seen in 3 months - but saw 4 of the big 5 and lots more!) from a safari point of view 5 star. from an accommodation point of view it was 4 star but really lovely and you felt like you were living in the bush (bugs and all!). we were spoilt in mosaic lodge and impodimo was a step down in accommodation but the safari experience was amazing ( which is what we went for!). every morning the breakfast was very good - cereal etc and then a cooked breakfast to order. just what we needed after our first game drive of the day. the dinner however was variable in standard. great steak one night but not great another. the general staff (excluding ranger and tracker) weren't very friendly. Again we were spoilt in mosaic! transfer to and from jo burg were perfect.”

“donna was great through the whole process. as we were a family of 6 she worked hard to fulfil all our needs and requirements at the booking stage. very professional throughout the whole process. a special mention of her care was when we lost our mahlatini wallet with all travel vouchers including the childrens birth certs! she emailed replacement vouchers immediately and advised us on replacing birth certs. this service was very good especially as it was over the Christmas holiday. a special mention must also go to nikki o hare who in donnas absence changed our accommodation in capetown and handled everything very well. we also met clare from mahlatini on the boat on mosaic lagoon - who was also lovely and a great swimmer!!”
