Honeymoon to Tanzania
Anonymous, 12th January 2018Amazing, we loved every minute of it. Brilliantly organised by Nikki. No issues on transfers, flights, pick ups or hotels (well just one see below). All in all, it was fantastic. Would definitely recommend Mahlatini to friends & family.
Countries Visited
Tanzania
“Difficult in some ways to answer as we only really saw the 3 camps.
The drives outside of the camps showed quite a lot of poverty but the staff at the camps and drivers we all extremely friendly and approachable.”
Accommodation Visited
Elewana Arusha Coffee Lodge
“Great little place to stay for the night.
Arrived late and left early but would have liked longer there to enjoy what it had to offer!”
Sanctuary Swala Camp
“Fantastic.
Rooms were superb, the food was excellent as were the staff.
Always there to help and made staying a joy.
Driver Samwel was brilliant also.”
Sanctuary Ngorongoro Crater Camp
“Given the location on the crater ridge, the rooms were excellently equipped.
We couldn't believe it really.
The bucket shower was far better than expected.
Wifi access too which was unexpected.
Again staff, food & drink given the location were superb.
Great atmosphere around the camp and the fire.”
Sanctuary Kusini Camp
“Have to say a little disappointed in this camp.
I had heard great things about Kusini and i was left feeling underwhelmed.
It certainly was not bad, however, given the write ups and comparing to previous 2 it was not as good.
Firstly, (and not that this bothered Lydia or I really) we were not greeted after the drives on 3 out of the 6 drives. All other drives at other camps greeted us when the car arrived back with hand towels. This didn't materialise half the time.
Secondly, the room was a real disappointment. 2 single beds made into one double - on honeymoon this was poor we thought. The beds themselves were very uncomfortable and made noises when you moved in bed. The floorboards were extremely squeaky and loud - to the point that one night i didn't want to go to the bathroom for fear of waking Lydia up they were that loud.
Thirdly, they didn't know it was our honeymoon - again all other hotels including Zanzibar knew this and made an effort to recognise it.
That said, we still enjoyed our stay but felt this was our least enjoyable camp.
On the other hand, the game drives from the camp were probably the best!”
The Residence Zanzibar
“Cannot fault it!
Amazing 5* luxury.
The pool at the villa was advertised as a plunge pool from memory - it was much bigger, better than we could have ever expected.
The dining experience at night changed round in terms of the locations of the tables - as well as the normal dining room we used the beach & around the pool. I felt this was a nice way of mixing it up.
One negative was the music that accompanied the meal. We had the same "band" twice in 4 nights and their repertoire was about 5 songs that we must have heard 10 times each!!
The main pool was excellent, the beach was great, the jetty for sundowners was also excellent.
The people were also very friendly.
The bikes to get around the camp were a nice surprise and very handy.
Very spacious villas with everything you needed.
All in all we could have stayed another week easy!”
Staff Review
“Very attentive, knew answers to all my questions, was not pushy at all.
Very knowledgeable and created a magnificent honeymoon for us both.
We can't thank you enough.
Regards,
Nick”
