What an amazing experience! A trip of a lifetime!

Countries Visited

South Africa

Beautiful, great food, friendly people. Dying to go back!

Beautiful country.. language barrier and poverty were a bit more in your face and hard to avoid

Accommodation Visited

The Clarendon Fresnaye

Everything we needed and great non chain hotel feel

Avondrood Guest House

Perfect location and great homey vibe

Kirkman's Kamp

Absolutely amazing. From the food to the staff I couldn't recommend it more.

Oliver's Restaurant and Lodge

Great relaxing retreat and surprisingly fantastic food

Anantara Bazaruto Island Resort and Spa

This was the only blip of the trip. The lodging was fantastic and island was beautiful however it had a 'club med' feel to it. Buffets for every meal and the amenities were dated and run down. That and a very small portion of the staff spoke decent English. Behind the safari this was the most expensive place we stayed and I didn't think it was nearly worth the price point. That and I still don't understand how they can charge everything in USD when the resort has nothing to do with the United States. I would not recommend this hotel for the price point. It was tough to stay down given the beautiful surroundings but for what everything else cost on our trip this didn't live up to the expectations.
