Unbelievable experience. Everything was organized from the moment we left Tampa's airport. All the transportations to and from the airports and hotels were very professional. It was beyond what we could have imagined.
Seychelles was a great experience and very nice to start off the trip. The hotel was good and offered a very nice pool on the beach and an amazing beach.
If I could give this a 10/5, I would. Bateleur Camp is a paradise. Everything from the treatment at the airstrip when we landed, to the butler, to the chef, etc. Our safari guide, Jackson, was beyond incredible. Not only was he great with knowledge of the safari, but he also is an amazing person. He was always attentive to the animals we wanted to see and went above and beyond to make sure we saw them. We also were lucky to be alone on all the safari drives, so we were able to spend an extended time out in the Masai Mara. Along with James, his assistant during our stay, they made us a great breakfast one morning out in the reserve, which was unforgettable.
Carana Beach was a good hotel. Our room had a great pool on the balcony which was amazing. The pool and beach at the hotel were unreal! Only two things I would say was that the pool bar food was average, and also that the beach chairs in our hotel room were covered in ants. I asked once if they could fix it and it never got resolved. Regardless, it didn't affect our stay as we really never ended up using them anyways.
A fantastic place to stay overnight ahead of our safari. The property is beautiful and everyone there is so attentive. The restaurant (dinner) and breakfast were top notch and our driver to and from the airports were great, telling us all about Nairobi. The room was gorgeous.
10/5. Unreal. I spoke above on our experience and could go on for ages. I am certainly hoping to return in several years to show our future children the amazing place where we spent our honeymoon. Esther and Richard, the camp managers, were great with us, always asking if they could go the extra mile to help improve our stay, which was already amazing. On the last night they organized a very romantic dinner on our tent balcony, which was a great surprise. Also, we visited a local Maasai tribe on our last day, which was a great touch to our visit. Everything was unbelievable about Bateleur Camp.
From Day 1, Monique made sure we were taken care of and sent us various options for our honeymoon. She adapted to our budgets and needs perfectly. Even though there were two hiccups (Kenya Airways decided to change the travel schedule and rain at Kichwa Tembo), she immediately solved it and gave us the best possible option, including a fantastic upgrade to the Bateleur Camp. I have already recommended Mahlatini to my friends and also Monique, given her amazing customer service. Thank you, thank you, thank you. It was an amazing trip thanks to all the planning she put into it.
