The best holiday ever. We all loved Cape Town. The family safari was amazing. We loved Serondella. Victoria Falls- spectacular and Franschhoek was civilised and enjoyable.
Its a wonderful, varied and interesting country offering something for everyone.
Victoria Falls is spectacular but we suspect that area is not at all typical of the rest of Zimbabwe so to be honest we wouldn't like to judge the whole country. The hotel- Victoria Falls was in a great location and was beautiful. We walked to the falls. There was more wild life roaming around (elephants, baboons etc.) than I had expected.
Location is great- right on the waterfront next to the night life, shops, bars etc. It's a old style very large hotel. The rooms are very comfy and we had a sea view. We only ate breakfast there.
I would tick 7 stars if I could. It was outstanding. The location right next to the waterhole which attracted more than 50 elephants over our 4 days + leopard, buffalo, baboons, warthog and all the antelopes. We just sat on the deck watching! The rooms were large and comfy with two rooms having waterhole views. The bed was v confy. Chewie and Monica and Jeffrey were friendly, extremely knowledgeable and made us feel at home. It was great to have the whole lodge to ourselves. The food was all lovely- a great choice of S African specialities with options if you didn't fancy ostrich or springkbok!
Great location about half a mile from the falls. The stables block was lovely with jasmine in the garden, large rooms, well equipped. It is an old colonial style hotel- very large. The food on the terrace restaurant at dinner was a bit disappointing but the Jungle Junction buffet breakfast and dinner were fine.
A beautiful boutique modern hotel- small and right on the main street so location is fantastic. The bed was the comfiest ever! The room very well equipped with lovely extras. The pool was lovely with comfy beds, a grass area and the terrace where we had breakfast was relaxed and informal.
Sive was great as was Nikki when she took over. It was a complicated booking with 9 people doing different things and different timings but Sive's knowledge of the hotels and areas helped us plan what turned out to be a amazing holiday.
It's Mahlatini staffs' personal knowledge of the hotels and venues that is really invaluable when planning the trip. Once they understand your needs their advice has always been 'spot-on' re where to stay and how long in each place. Thanks everyone.
