A trip of an absolute lifetime. The five nights of Safari touring the various national parks with two nights in the Serengeti was incredible. We enjoyed Zanzibar too but as an active couple into wildlife we preferred the first leg of our trip. Tanzania is a beautiful country with a superb landscape with wonderful and hospitable people.
As above a beautiful country with incredible animals, wildlife and wonderful people. Loved every minute of being in Tanzania.
Our first night we stayed here after a tiring flight and first game drive at Tarangire. It was such a lovely tented camp. Staff were brilliant and the facilities were perfect. We had a lovely time here. Food at dinner and breakfast was perfect. No issues at all staying here.
First impression was our room was HUGE. So wonderfully spacious. Again the staff and the food for breakfast and dinner was very good. They had nice snack food before dinner and an African dance performance which we thoroughly enjoyed before the main dinner.
This camp was fantastic. As it only opened in July the facilities were top quality and considering where we were very hygenic. The staff made you feel like you were a part of their family that's what was most wonderful. Food again was very good and the chef was awesome. In terms of location it was extremely exciting. It was close to a hippo pool so we were woken up by two huge hippos circling our tent and also the sound of lions roaring through the night. Would 100% stay here again.
Unlike the other three places we were really disappointed with this lodge. It was very outdated. The common areas as well as the rooms were dark and dingy. The bathroom and toilets were dirty and the bed was not very comfortable. The food was of a very poor quality and quantity. The dinner was a set menu with none of the courses being very good, pretty poor selections and quality and taste were not satisfactory. Better to have a buffet to cater for all needs. The restaurant staff were not as hospitable as the other places we stayed. Even at breakfast the dining room was so dark. Considering the Hippo Trails camp was in the middle of nowhere the food there was great whilst this lodge was in town and the food was terrible. This places needs a big upgrade and we were left slightly disappointed.
Wonderful resort. Our room was big and spacious and the staff were incredibly friendly. Breakfast and dinner were both excellent. On one of the nights we were not a big fan of the set menu and the chef made us a separate dish. They catered well for our halal needs keeping pork/bacon products away from us. Only criticism we had of the resort was the lack of activities during the course of the day. We are both active people and got slightly bored during the day. Probably would have cut our time here from 5 nights to either 3 or 4 nights.
Simply outstanding. Monique from day 1 was superb. Arranging our trip so that the safari was a private one for just me and my wife on our honeymoon to educating us on the itinerary and explaining the various safari game drives. Just everything was absolutely wonderful - cannot fault her at all!
