Overall Impressions

The entire honeymoon was absolutely amazing from start to finish! If we had to pick some highlights then it'd be exploring the wines lands around Stellenbosch. We especially loved stopping off at the Boschendal wine estate and having one of their picnics on the lawn overlooking the mountains, followed by a wine tour and some wine tasting. Our safari from start to finish was absolutely incredible ? we saw so much from lions roaring at dawn to a pack of wild dogs hunting impala. We never expected to see so many animals or learn so much about the animals and our surroundings from our brilliant ranger and tracker. Mauritius was also brilliant to chill out especially as the last few months had been so busy and the fact that it was all inclusive was great ? we didn?t need to spend a single penny all week!

Countries Visited

Mauritius 5

As we were so tired after the South Africa leg of our trip we didn?t get to see as much of the island as we should have done but what we saw was beautiful. The beaches were spotless and the landscape is lush and green. The island also felt very safe.

South Africa 5

We loved South Africa and really want to go back. Cape Town was offers you a great city break with loads to do which is right next to amazing beach resorts. The wine lands are so close to Cape Town but the scenery is so different and you can often see a wild ostrich or bamboon wandering along the roads. The north of the country around Kruger is completely different again and it does feel as through your in another world.

Accommodation Visited

Four Rosmead Boutique Guesthouse 5

Four Rosmead was a great boutique hotel in the centre of Cape Town yet on a more residential street so you felt like a local and you felt very safe. The hotel was beautiful and was filled with great artwork from local artists and our room (we were upgraded free of charge) was amazing with views on three sides and a balcony overlooking table mountain itself. The thing which really set Four Rosmead apart was how friendly and helpful the staff were, nothing was too much trouble - from booking us onto the tourist bus online as it?d save us money to recommending and booking us into great restaurants . The breakfasts were also brilliant and really set us up for the day.

Serondella Game Lodge 5

Serondella was simply perfect in every way. The rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable, the decking area was particularly useful as you could chill out on a sun lounger between safaris and watch the animals at the watering hole. The food was exceptional, there was plenty of choice and standard was really high. But above all the people who worked there made our trip. Everyone was so friendly and couldn?t do enough for us particularly Neil and Chrissy ? thank you for being so welcoming and teaching us so much about the animals and Africa in general. To sum, if you are thinking of going on sarafi ? book Serondella and you won?t be disappointed.

Heritage Awali Golf & Spa Resort 4

The Heritage was perfect for relaxation which is just what we needed after South Africa. The all inclusive option was great as you could eat in six wonderful restaurants ? you could pay extra and get a different menu at most restaurant s but we never needed to. The lunch options were also comprehensive and varied. The drinks package included was brilliant as it included pretty much everything including French Champagne, premium spirits and all cocktails. Another great thing about the Heritage is that we got to do loads of activities (all included) too including the spa (I had a facial), a snorkelling trip, a jeep safari in their nature reserve, a glass bottom boat trip, archery and tennis. On the minus side the service was slow and at times unfriendly and we quite often didn?t get the drinks we ordered but something completely different! The booking system for the restaurants also needs relooking at as we tried to book restaurants for the week as soon as we?d arrived and reception told us that most places were booked up all week . After some negotiation we got into most restaurants but when we actually went to them we found them nearly empty, which we found really sad as a lot of people would have missed out on a great meal as the restaurant was apparently ?fully booked?. Nevertheless the Heritage was a great chill out hotel with a great all inclusive offering.

Staff Review 5

Adam was absolutely brilliant in putting our honeymoon together for us ? We can?t thank him enough. We approached him with a really rough idea that we wanted to go to Cape Town , then safari and then go somewhere to chill out and a rough budget. He came back with great recommendations and several accommodation options for us to choose from. Being a bit of an annoying perfectionist I then looked around at other companies and asked Adam to look into other options but in the end Adam?s original recommendation is what we went with. The whole booking process was really smooth and stress free and the information sent to us with our tickets answered all our questions and more. Thank you so much for making our honeymoon so special.
