Overall Impressions

A fantastic trip, very well judged accommodation and length of stay in each place. Each location was superb and we felt very spoilt.

Countries Visited

Botswana Safaris

Fantastic place for game viewing, and our son especially enjoyed the bird watching opportunities, aided by excellent guides.

Zimbabwe

The Victoria Falls were spectacular and would highly recommend visiting. Lots of other activities available although not too much to do in the actual town.

Accommodation Visited

Footsteps Camp

Amazing experience, the team were so friendly and helpful. We loved the game drives, walking safari, the bar they set up one evening in the bush. The food was outstanding along with the service. A special call out for the afternoon activities for our 10 year old, he had a great time with the team, and we enjoyed the piece and quiet! OP was a first rate guide, and was very flexible to our requirements, especially our son's bird watching.

Machaba Camp

Outstanding accommodation, with lots of lovely little touches (for instance the goodie bag for our son). Our family tent was huge and very comfortable and the bar, lounge, restaurant was luxurious. The food was of a very high standard and they happily adapted the menu for our (fussy) son. Excellent game viewing, our guide was really prepared to maximise our chances of seeing interesting sightings.

Ilala Lodge Hotel

Very comfortable hotel with an excellent location for the falls (easy walking distance). Restaurant and Bar staff very friendly and provided excellent service. Activities office staff very helpful and overall facilities in the hotel good. However the fact that some building / maintenance work ongoing whilst we were there was slightly disappointing.

Staff Review

Overall the Mahlatini staff have been excellent, working with us since 2019 on this trip (original travel date March 2020!). Ongoing communication throughout giving us confidence and comfort, and always answered questions promptly. One small hiccup with COVID travel requirements / advice just before we left did cause us some stress.
