Cape Grace was just exceptional, Franschhoek was beautiful, and the entire safari experience at Serondella was amazing - from the warm, personal service to the unforgettable animal sightings to the setting. Definitely the trip of a lifetime! Also, every part of our trip - from getting the rental car to getting transferred from place to place in South Africa - was very smooth, thanks to Mahlatini.
This was the best trip we have ever taken. Highlights were the wonderful safari experience at Serondella, the trip to Robben Island, the scenic drive around the Cape of Good Hope (complete with great penguin viewing at Boulder's Beach and sunset drinks at the 12 Apostles Hotel bar), and the amazing natural beauty and great food at Franschhoek (we really loved that town, more than Stellenbosch).
Cape Grace was the best hotel we have ever stayed in, hands down. The room was beautiful and the setting was perfect - very convenient for walking around Cape Town city center and the V&A waterfront and getting to Robben Island. More than that, though, the service was just amazing. They gave us a honeymoon gift every day of our stay and were very helpful with bookings and sightseeing tips. And they were just warm and friendly in ways we won't forget.
In terms of setting, La Petite Ferme could not be beat. Our superior vista suite was excellent. The western-facing views of the mountains and vineyards were just superb (and the splash pool was great!), the privacy was unparalleled (at least at our suite - #1), and the accommodations were lovely. The service was also very good (though not available after close of business). I would recommend La Petite Ferme to others.
This was the best part of our honeymoon. The staff were just wonderful to us, and showed us more wildlife - and showed it extremely close up - than we could have ever dreamed. We saw the big five (several times!) and many more (cheetah, hippos, giraffes, zebras, wart hogs, jackals, chameleons, monitor lizards, leopard turtles, and many types of birds). The food was _fantastic_. Every meal was just excellent - better than the high-end restaurants we went to in Cape Town; Godsave is a wonderful chef. And the staff pampered us - a romantic candle-lit rose petal bath on one night, a private fire-lit dinner for two in our private lodge (with a delicious bottle of sparkling wine on the house) on the last night, and more. Just amazing.
The accommodations were definitely one-of-a-kind - it was great to be overlooking the Sabie River and hear its rushing water at night, and the privacy of our tent suite was really excellent (the bathroom was actually the best part - great outdoor shower and bath set-up). The service was lacking, though. Because we had no car, we couldn't get off the property without their help, and it took them hours to help us with our requests (e.g., I asked the concierge how to get a taxi to town and she didn't know, and it took her hours to find out; since we only had one full day there, there prevented us from doing some things we would have wanted to do in town). That's the other thing: unless you know your honeymooners plan to make use of the spa facilities, there is not much to do, and the good restaurant on the property (Summerfield's Kitchen, which really is delicious), is a long walk.

Adam was very professional, quick and helpful in his responses, and offered great advice as to what places would provide good value for our budget and how long we should stay in each part of South Africa. I would definitely use his services again.
