Overall Impressions

The whole honeymoon was fantastic! Nikki was extremely helpful during the planning and every hotel we stayed at was lovely and in a great location. Our safari experience at Thornybush Game Reserve was by far our highlight! The lodge (Serondella) was just amazing and the safari itself was incredible!

Countries Visited

South Africa 5

We absolutely loved South Africa and will definitely be returning! Table Mountain, Cape Point, shark diving, V&A Waterfront, wine tasting, safari, it was all amazing! We have returned having seen and done so much and with so so many fantastic memories.

Zambia 5

We loved seeing the Victoria Falls in Zambia and our helicopter ride over them was definitely our highlight.

Accommodation Visited

Cape Cadogan Boutique Hotel 5

Cape Cadogan is a beautiful hotel with a very warm, inviting feel to it. It is in a great location near Table Mountain and the V&A Waterfront which was great. The room was spacious and clean with a beautiful view overlooking the mountain. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. They advised us on places to visit and organised tours and booked us meals at some fantastic restaurants. One evening they also decorated our room with rose petals and provided us with a free bottle of bubbly which was a really special touch. The breakfasts were also the best I have ever had in a hotel!

River Manor Boutique Hotel & Spa 4

River Manor is a lovely hotel situated in the heart of Stellenbosh within walking distance of all the restaurants and bars. The staff were very helpful when organising a wine tour for us and always friendly. The grounds are well maintained and very pretty. Our room was great and very spacious but my only criticism would be that the log fire that burns in the communal lounge does leave the hotel smelling a bit stale and smoky at times.

Avani Victoria Falls Resort 4

The Zambezi Sun is a large hotel with a great expansive pool and beautiful well maintained grounds. It was fantastic to see zebras, giraffes and baboons walking around so freely! The restaurant and pool bar are very clean and well decorated and the food is of a high standard. Our room was very nice but could do with an update (I noticed they are currently refurbishing the rooms block by block). It was amazing to be so close to the Victoria Falls and we thoroughly enjoyed walking around them every day. A perfect location! They provide a free shuttle service to their sister hotel, The Royal Livingstone, which is great as it is a beautiful place to enjoy sundowners overlooking the Zambezi River. We also ate dinner their one evening at their private 'Monkey Tree' table which was a real highlight of our trip, it was beautiful!

Serondella Game Lodge 5

Well what can I say about Serondella...just WOW!! Our time there was amazing and the most perfect way to end our honeymoon. The lodge itself is fantastic and with a maximum of 8 people staying there at any one time gives you a really personal, luxurious experience. The lodge we stayed in was stunning! It was immaculate and the private terrace overlooking the watering hole was so special! Monica and Chewie (the hostess and ranger) were the most incredible hosts and made Serondella a real home from home experience. Nothing was too much. Chewie ensured the game drives were amazing and he was full of enthusiasm and great information and stories about the animals. We could have listened to him all day! The food was also out of this world! I cried when we left so that says it all really...

Staff Review 5

The customer service provided by Nikki was fantastic! She was extremely friendly, helpful and informative during the planning and lead up to our honeymoon. The initial itinerary we were provided with was very detailed and clear which is why we chose to book with Mahlatini. Nikki was also very honest about what hotels she felt would suit us best as a couple. Overall she was great and planned us the perfect honeymoon, thank you!
