Eric and I could not have imagined a more special trip! We will never forget it - from the beautiful views, delicious wine, and top notch hospitality in Cape Town, to the sounds of the animals in your backyard, food prepared with love at every meal, and fascinating experience watching animals go about their day just feet away from you in the African bush, to the spectacular white sand and cerulean water, ideal for scuba diving, in the Seychelles! I cried when it was over!
The Four Rosmead was a beautiful boutique hotel with comfortable accommodations and very friendly and helpful staff. Unfortunately, our TV did not work due to signal issues that have supposedly been ongoing and could not be resolved in the time we were there. Also, we were placed in the first room upon entering the hotel, which faced the street and limited our privacy somewhat.
Note: We stayed at Leadwood Lodge. We cannot say enough about how fabulous our experience was at Leadwood. We were blown away by everything - the accommodations, hospitality, and cuisine. We felt right at home in the comfort of our beautiful chalet. The staff welcomed us with open arms from the beginning and catered to us sincerely throughout our stay. The food was fresh and flavorful and exuded the passion of the chefs who created it. They were beyond accommodating to Eric's dietary needs, making him special dairy-free dishes at each meal. Leadwood truly is a special place and we hope to go back soon!
The Peech Boutique Hotel 5
The Peech was the perfect spot for us to spend our one night in Joberg. The room was chic and comfortable and the staff warm and accommodating, including the guide they arranged for to take us on an excursion and driver who transferred us to and from dinner.
Sainte Anne Island 3
Overall, we enjoyed Sainte Anne in its purest form - as an island with beautiful beaches and fascinating marine life. Unfortunately, the accommodations and service were lacking in the following ways*: -there was an ant infestation in the bathroom of our original villa, prompting us to request to switch to a different villa on our first night (which the staff honored) -villa design was outdated and air conditioning/fan inefficient -staff was generally unfriendly and seemingly unmotivated -service was very slow during meals and 'club car' pick-up wait times long (though this generally changed once we voiced our frustration) -fish was very fresh, though food, overall, was very average, lacking in quality and flavor *We were told by one of our transporters that the resort has been struggling to meet guest expectations over the past few years and has experienced multiple management changeovers
