We fell in love with South Africa and are now hooked on Safari. Big highlight was doing my first ever mountain trek (Table Mountain in Cape Town). We had an excellent guide which made our trek even more memorable. So much to do in Cape Town we could have spent another few days there and not been bored. Having the car was great and enabled us to see and do loads more than we had anticipated. As it was winter in South Africa there weren't loads of tourists around which we enjoyed. As for safety we had no problems and felt comfortable. You obviously have to take precautions whenever you go travelling so if you do that you won't feel uneasy. Listen to the advice and you should feel fine. We packed a lot in to our trip and inevitably felt a bit run down in Seychelles but wouldn't change a thing. Seychelles felt that extra bit special and it was nice to go during a quieter period. Slightly disappointed in the service level at H Resort and the Seychelles generally but nothing which ruined our enjoyment of the trip.
We love this country and will be back to learn more about its fascinating history and its fruitful future. We had some wonderful, memorable experiences which will stay with us forever.
Loved the island experience, reminded me of Fiji though the people here weren't as friendly. Wish we had more time to island hop and hike but due to tiredness/illness we couldn't manage it. Local bazar in Beau Vallon was fantastic with loads of food on offer and it give a real sense of local life in the area. I would advise on not taking the local buses. We did because we wanted to experience it and the driver drove erratically and ended up crashing into the side of the road resulting in a lady requiring hospital treatment. Not good. Lovely, tasty food on offer. Great if you like curries. Miles better than any we have had elsewhere. Victoria was too busy for our liking.
Staff were excellent. Accommodating in every way possible. Breakfast selection very good. Cooked breakfast even better. Staff knowledge of area very good. Only negative, fairly limited bar/drink options.
WOW. Staff couldn't do enough for us. Lovely warm people. Amazing setting, the suites are fantastic. Never been anywhere like it. Excellent, informative, exciting game drives. Food was fab and different. Nice touch with the outside dining area. Its luxurious without being in your face. They really have hit all the right notes here.
Staff and service slightly disappointing. Didn't really do enough considering it was our honeymoon. It always felt like were were bothering the staff if ever we needed anything which is not what you want. Huge resort. Very 'Dubai' which I suppose isn't a shock considering the owners. Gorgeous pool area, fab location on the beach. Liked the scenery and the calming music they played at the resort. Easy to walk to other restaurants for a change of scenery. Though some people may feel uneasy walking back at dark on the beach. It was nice NOT to be surrounded by big groups or large families etc We enjoyed the privacy and the close proximity to the beach. Beach was usually fairly quiet which was a bonus. Pool staff were cool and nice to have free use of sports/water sports equipment.
