Overall Impressions

Great break. amazing sights, high standard accommodation and treatment through out.

Countries Visited

Zambia was fine. I am using this box to say that jo'burg needs to sort its transfers out. the passport check was a joke, with more people looking at the queue than looking at passports, and when we got to the front the man was more interested in his news paper than our passports. Shocking security, and a waste of time

Barely saw any "real" Botswana, but the people we met in the camps were lovely, helpful and looked after us beautifully. Really enjoyed our bushman's walk at Xudum.

Accommodation Visited

The Royal Livingstone Hotel by Anantara

Great place to arrive and decompress. Waking up to hippos honking on the Mighty Zambezi, and zebra grazing on the grass outside was a pretty amazing way to start the day.

Chobe Under Canvas

It might be camping but it doesn't feel like it. Comfortable and great facilities. Blu and the team were fantastic. Big five in one drive!

Nxabega Okavango Tented Camp

probably the best of the accommodation. Beautiful, gloriously welcoming team and so much to see. A sundowner on waters of the Delta, with kingfishers buzzing around you: what more could you want? oh, and we saw wild dogs by the runway at the intermediate stop as we flew from Kasane to Nxabega.

Xudum Okavango Delta Lodge

The site felt a bit older, but still wonderful. Finally saw good leopard - three in a small area all eyeing each other. You know its good when the guide gets his camera out. Kept being surrounded by elephants at the lodge. once you get a bit more relaxed to seeing an elephant from, say, ten foot away through a fly screen, you start to realise quite what an amazing thing you are seeing.
