Overall Impressions

All connections and arrangements worked perfectly. Though asked to sign a document waiving all rights by Malawian Style, managed to ignore, but a little disconcerting. The country is very dry and struggling at this time of year

Countries Visited

Malawi

A very poor, but friendly country, we really only passed through the reality on our way to our various destinations. Varied scenery from the Mountains to the lake

Zambia

More organised and with more wealth, though that is a comparative, everyone very friendly

Accommodation Visited

Zomba Forest Lodge

Made very welcome by our hosts, helping with a bird watching trip, they really went out of their way for us at the start of our holiday.

Mvuu Camp

I thought this was super, we had our own specialist guide, as we were interested in the birds. A very personalised service, the camp on the River was delightful, Hippo in the water across the way bellowing through the day and night. Contrasting drives on the river and on land.

Danforth Yachting

Complete contrast and a welcome rest from the exertion of safari drives. A relaxing time a little sailing swimming and snorkelling. Accommodation very comfortable...even a hairdryer!

Chindeni Bush Camp

Again a good service the guides had fantastic knowledge, a mixture of walking and driving safari. Managed to see everything except the wild dogs. The guides certainly knew their patch Accommodation opposite water, a little more game here.

Mfuwe Lodge

Very comfortable, service excellent, just one drive here,by a very experienced guide, a wealth of game in this area, quite a brief stay. Everyone very enthusiastic.

The Royal Livingstone Hotel by Anantara

Final stop a luxurious experience, a little more impersonal that the lodges, but due to size of the organisation. Restaurant meals were particularly good, and another discovery of a hairdryer in the room!!!

Staff Review

Claire has been great, she has put together a very varied and interesting programme. She has dealt with all my various unfounded concerns about the trip, from Bilharzia to Malaria and Famine, with good sense and good advice. It was my first trip to, "real Africa", it has been a wonderful, memorable experience. Thank you Claire
