Overall Impressions

The team at Mahlatini arranged a complicated honeymoon with three different destinations. The personal knowledge that the team provided allowed us to find a safari camp in South Africa that was absolutely superb and the highlight of our trp.

Countries Visited

Mauritius 4

Mauritius is a lovely destination and a perfect place to relax on honeymoon. The surroundings, weather and food are wonderful and the people are very friendly. The highlights would be the beach activities and the locally caught seafood. My only reservation is that it is an expensive destination compared to the Caribbean which provides a similar experience.

South Africa 5

This is a beautiful country and the animals and plants that can be observed in South Africa are breathtaking. Safari in South Africa is an unforgettable experience. Seeing leopards and lions eating freshly caught prey up close is unbeatable. The guides are full of information and local knowledge - they can find any animal no matter how elusive. The experience of an African safari is not to be missed

Zambia 4

This is a lovely country but, as with much of Africa, it is very poor so the amenities are not as well developed as in South Africafor example. The hotels are very nice but experience frequent power cuts which can be difficult for tourists in such hot weather. The Zambezi and Victoria Falls are breathtakingly beautiful and a real once in lifetime experience.

Accommodation Visited

The David Livingstone Safari Lodge and Spa 4

The hotel was in a very beautiful spot on the edge of the river. The staff were very helpul and thoughtful, the manager personally located and returned my camera when it went missing. The only problem was that the hotel had frequent power cuts due to the unreliable electricity supply in Zambia. This meant that the air conditioning was not working at night when it was very hot.

LUX* Le Morne 5

The hotel was beautiful and in a pictueresque location. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The rooms are stunning with lovely bathrooms and views over the sea. Drinks at the bar were very expensive though so I would recommend booking all inclusive as it is not good value for money to buy drinks separately.

Ngala Safari Lodge 5

This was the real highlight of our trip. It was a small camp and the staff couldnt do more to make you feel special. They greeted us on arrival, showed us to our rooms and picked us up every night to escort us to dinner (guests cant walk around the camp alone at night because of the animals). They provide every comfort you could need, the food is delicious, the guides are very knowledgeable and friendly and the decor of the camp is wonderful. A truly special experience.

Staff Review 5

Greg was very patient and helpful when we were not really sure what we wanted. He made several suggestions and was very mindful of our budget. He found us the nicest places within the budget we set rather than coming back with only more expensive options which is what other agents had done. He also had personal knowledge of the safari lodges that we were considering which meant he picked exactly what we wanted. Greg was also very prompt and helpful in replying to email queries right up to the departure - no matter how silly my questions! Mahlatini also provided a comprehensive travel pack with all the docuementation we needed set out very clearly with additional helpful instructions - it took all of the stress out of the honeymoon.
