Sitting high on the ridge of a lush green hillside, Virunga Lodge is the ideal base for gorilla trekking in the Volcanoes National Park. Blending well with the surrounding landscape, the property overlooks the sprawling lakes Bulera and Ruhondo and the Virunga volcanoes. The lodge is solar-powered and features a main lounge area and bar with WiFi, a helicopter landing pad and pretty terraced gardens.
There are 10 elegant bandas, each with a private terrace overlooking the volcanoes or the twin lakes 2 deluxe bandas will suit honeymooners or families with their only private sitting room and a larger terrace. There is a personal butler service for all guests and the Ikirunga Spa with 2 treatment rooms and a sauna. Aside from gorilla tracking, you can also enjoy golden monkey tracking, volcano hikes and visits to Dian Fossey's grave.
