One of the world's most exclusive and secluded getaways, North Island is quite simply the ultimate in barefoot luxury, whether for a lavish honeymoon or luxury family holiday. This exquisite 500-acre island sanctuary, just 20 miles from the main island of Mahe, is a haven for the discerning traveller, offering unparalleled levels of service coupled with extraordinary nature and award-winning conservation and sustainability.
Villas balance luxury and simplicity and sit in perfect harmony with the natural surroundings. A holiday here, however, is an experience that is totally customized to you; one where you are in control of the rules. Your menus are designed in collaboration with the Michelin-starred chef and tailored according to the latest island harvest. Your private butler will discreetly arrange activities, from spa treatments to scuba diving and nature walks to a surprise dinner for your partner. On North, you have the feeling of your own private island, an endless sense of space and a relaxed ambience of pure indulgence.
Accommodation aims to create a sense of tradition and authenticity, with each of the 11 villas elegantly handcrafted in distinctive Seychellois style and comprised of locally-hewn stone, glass and wood. The villas are spacious and extremely comfortable with the soft white sand of North Island's eastern beach only ever a few steps away. One of the villas in particular, known as Villa North Island, is the pinnacle of luxury, with multi tired levels and its own private beach.
Phenomenal views are afforded from the Island's lounge and dining room. A rim-flow swimming pool, a spa, a world class dive centre and a gym, add to the repertoire of services on offer, while a restaurant and bar hidden away on the Island's western beach provide the cherry on the cake. There are no mealtimes or even menus: food is discussed with an executive chef on arrival.
The island also has one of the world's most exclusive beach bar's - the West Beach Bar - fringed by lush tropical forest, giant granite boulders and a white sand beach. With a barbecue and pizza oven the emphasis is very much on informal fare, designed with island's chef's. In the bar, there's no cocktail menu; instead guests are guided by the talented bartenders who are used to the classics, but passionate about using iconic flavours of the Seychelles. A firm favourite of guests, it has a lovely castaway-chic atmosphere, with interactive food and drink offerings. Whatever time of year you visit, it's the perfect place to witness spectacular Seychelles sunsets and the natural beauty of North Island.
20 miles off the coast of Mahe Island and 15 minutes by helicopter.
All activities are individually tailored to you. Scuba diving, fishing trips, kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding, snorkelling, cycling, guided nature walks, sunset cruises. Beach picnics. Spa, Yoga. Gym.
