Boschendal

Situated a short 15-minute drive from Franschhoek village, between Stellenbosch and Paarl, is the Boschendal Farm, a working agricultural farm offering a plethora of activities, award winning wine and gourmet food. With a grand mountain backdrop, guests can expect dappled oak tree avenues, 17th century Cape Dutch architecture, rustic-chic interiors and even ducks waddling up and down the estate.

The luxury guest accommodation on the farm is a recent addition, with the option of staying in the historical Herbert Baker designed, Rhodes Cottage (sleeps 10) or the beautifully restored 1, 2, 3 and 4-bedroom farm cottages, all dotted around the property. Guests can choose to stay in the 'werf' (farmstead) close to the deli shop, restaurant, and wine tasting; or in a more remote location amongst the hillside fynbos. With traditional Cape farm interiors, the rooms come with luxurious fabrics and finishes as well as Victorian-styled bathrooms.

All the cottages have a full kitchen (or kitchenette in the smaller cottages) where guests may wish to prepare meals using fresh farm produce bought at the estate's Deli. Alternatively, guests can have breakfast, lunch or dinner baskets brought to their cottage or eat at the Werf Restaurant, Farmshop & Deli, Rhone Homestead or picnic area. With Boschendal being the one of the Cape's most authentic agritourism experiences, everything guests will eat and drink on the farm has been ethically raised.

The guests of Boschendal have privileged access to the farm, they can join a farm tour or explore the estate on foot, following trails through orchards and mountain fynbos. There is also a swimming pool and spa for a more leisurely experience.
