We had a high room which was very spacious with a very luxurious bathroom. The staff there were very attentive and helpful and it was in a safe and quiet area of Cape Town.

This was one of the least impressive of the Guest Houses - not because of the standard of accommodation, although it was cold and draughty but because of our overall experience. Three issues - reverse order of importance 1. Quality of information - we asked about restaurants and were given directions to an Italian restaurant which had been closed for several months. As this was our first night in Cape Town and we had been told to be very careful walking about it was not a good experience to walk for 15 minutes in the dark to find that there was no restaurant. 2. Responsiveness - we asked that our balcony door be locked - it was open and we didn't have a key. It took them until the evening before our departure to fix this despite two reminders. The light in our room didn't work (table light) and we asked for this to be fixed as it was the light on the desk/dressing table - it wasn't. 3. Honesty of staff - this was a real shocker. My son left his jacket in the wardrobe when we left. In the jacket pocket was 500 rand. We returned to get the jacket after one hour. The jacket was there but the money was gone. A lady was cleaning the room and said that she hadn't looked in the wardrobe. I am certain that the money was in the jacket the night before as my son checked it. He hadn't left the room until the following morning. He forgot the jacket and we returned quickly. I phoned the Guest House and they promised to look into it and call or e mail me. I have heard nothing. Very disappointing frankly.

very nice building in nice, safe residential area. Staff very welcoming and provided good advice on restaurants etc breakfast good. Slight downsides- main light in room was inadequate(too dim) and balcony doors banged in wind. But all in all very good 4.5/5

Our room here was quite cold and we spoke to reception about it three times but with no luck. Reception however was helpful when booking trips and restaurants.

We stayed in three places: Cape Town B & B was Cape Riviera - Everything physically GOOD, Staff good, Proprieter insincere throughout. Exemplified by parting shot, when told that we had had an extra lodger(a large and troublesome cockroach) was 'Oh I must clear hiom out' Indeed, and of course no apology and not even a 'NO PROBLEM'!!

Owen & Lisa were brilliant. They took really good care of us and ensured that we were never at a loss for things to see and do or places to eat. Their recommendations for restaurants were always top notch. The actual room was lovely with plenty of space. They clearly love what they were doing and their service was exceptional.

Lisa and the staff were very helpful and the food and accomodation were excellent. The location was very handy for Table Mountain and was close to some very nice restaurants. We felt very safe walking in this area.

After reading a few of the reviews on tripadvisor we were a bit worried about staying here but there was no need to worry at all. Again the hotel was great, we got upgraded to a better room and the staff were very friendly and nice, they helped us plan our stay in cape town. Some of the reviews on trip advisor mentioned that security was a problem but we had no problems. We enjoyed staying at the Cape Riveria so much we would love to go back and if we were to go to Cape Town again we would definitely stay here.
