Chapungu Tented Camp is a small intimate camp deep in the private Thornybush Game Reserve bordering the Kruger National Park is one of the country's great tracts of untamed game-viewing. In true African style, the luxury tents overlook the magnificent bushveld and are tastefully furnished in old-world colonial splendour.
Chapungu offers 8 comfortable tents, each with private facilities and featuring an outdoor bath which overlooks the African savannah. All tents are connected by pathways with the main camp and contain overhead ceiling fans and air-conditioners. The main camp offers a rock pool, curio shop, boma and dining area and a wine cellar. Meals are taken together to afford the opportunity for all guests to share the excitement of the day's game viewing experiences. Spa treatments are available in the nearby Thornybush Game Lodge.
Access by air from the Hoedspruit Airport which is approximately a 30 minute drive from the lodge. The drive time to Thornybush Game Lodge by road from Johannesburg is approximately 6 - 7 hours.
