As mentioned the accommodation arranged and everyone we met throughout the trip were all faultless but I think we particularly enjoyed The Kurland outside Plettenburg Bay, getting on very well with Diana and all the team. Horseriding and quad bikes around the estate were great fun, especially for the kids who got a taste for speed on the quad bikes that had to be tempered a bit!! The nearby elephant sanctuary was a highlight, as was the canyoning and climbing/abseiling we did locally with www.africanyon.com and www.afriabseil.com. Special shout again to Sevo and Sims for the fun and great photos from the canyoning and climbing/abseiling.Read full trip review

By far our favourite. The furnishings and proportions of the bedrooms were sumptuous! The children's loft bedroom and "en suite" were lovely and we did appreciate the lit fire in the bedroom to welcome us back after dinner each evening. It was undoubtedly a hotel geared to the "polo set", with stables to accommodate up to 75 horses, however the spacious and relaxed atmosphere meant the we didn't feel excluded. The only negative aspect we felt was that we were never quite sure who ran the show. The "manager" was frequently referred to by the staff, but we never saw him/her. The waiting staff seemed to have no overall manager and did as they wished. leaving to a slightly disorganised service. On several occasions there was no one at the reception and when we made a booking for dinner at the informal restaurant, no one seemed to be aware of it. Having said that, we loved the place and would definitely return!Read full trip review
