Londolozi's Varty Camp stands on the site where the Varty family first made camp in 1926 making Varty Camp the symbolic heart and soul of Londolozi. There are 8 luxurious, air-conditioned chalets and 2 superior chalets at Varty. Each has a private swimming pool framed by timber decks that overlook the riverine bush.

The main living area is raised off the ground and shaded under a cathedral of trees. It is here that you can find the original Sparta Hunting Camp, the camp's boutique, the cardio vascular room, massage treatment room and library. With a pleasingly down-to-earth quality and an emphasis on family heritage, children of all ages always have a place at Varty Camp.

Getting There

2.5 hour drive from Kruger Mpumalanga Airport (Nelspruit) and a 6 hour drive from Johannesburg. Federal Air flights operate a daily flight from Johannesburg International Airport to Londolozi Airstrip, which is a five-minute drive to the camp. Private charters can be arranged.

Morning and afternoon game drives, walking expeditions, yoga, animal tracking adventures, clay pigeon shooting, sleep-outs, fishing and Shangaan cultural village visits.

Review of Londolozi Varty Camp

Marc Pollack & Cindy Tortora

Breathtaking and magical. Staff really made the difference. Knowing the place has such rich history and commitment to the land was important and enhanced the experience. It was just everything it needed to be and more.
