Adjacent to the Kruger National Park, Monwana Game Lodge is found in the Thornybush Nature Reserve. Providing phenomenal Big 5 game viewing, the lodge presents guests with incredible privacy and the luxury of only 4 suites to choose from. This small and intimate lodge exudes a genuine friendliness and is extremely welcoming.
The luxury suites offer views of the surrounding area and are great for viewing wildlife in the evenings from private decks and patios. The 4 suites are divided between 2 family suites, 1 honeymoon suite and 1 king size suite. The honeymoon suite offers the perfect place for newlyweds to indulge, with a sunken bath and open plan bathroom offering fantastic views over the savannah. All of the suites possess en-suite bathrooms with both a shower and bath.
Delicious cuisine is on offer to guests, freshly prepared with a wide variety of dining options, which can be enjoyed in the dining area or from the comfort of your front garden in summer. A short walk from the suites there is also a gazebo to keep cool from the heat of the sun and a swimming pool to relax in. Game viewing is a large draw for visitors to the lodge, with over 12,000 hectares and over 56 different mammal species to see, night game drives add a further dimension to the experience with some animals only coming out after dark.
Access by air from the Hoedspruit Airport which is approximately a 30 minute drive from the lodge. The drive time to Thornybush Game Lodge by road from Johannesburg is approximately 6 - 7 hours.

This lodge was perfect for our trip. The people were very hospitable and the home cooked food was delicious! The daily schedules were well planned. Our room was so lovely and we got to lie on the day beds watching the wild animals come and go to the watering hole which was right in front of our room.
Authentic beautiful design that was comfortable and at the same time features the animals for viewing. Our room was very private, the bed incredibly comfortable. Safari drives were very well organized and safety was a priority. The meals were delicious plentiful, fresh and featured local ingredients. The options for wine were excellent and not expensive.
