Would score this 6 if I was allowed. The accommodation was lovely, recently refurbished and although busier than Simbambili was of the same high standard. In this lodge we had more contact with staff in particular our Ranger who met us before each game drive for coffee and had dinner with us each evening. To celebrate our specical birthdays our 'butler' drove out one evening (30 mins from Lodge) set up special sundowners of bubbly, nibbles and birthday cake, very unexpected but absolutely lovely. We would return to Ngala quicker than Simbambili because of the staff and extra personal touches. The game drives here were slightly more exciting as this game reserve is not fenced and although we had to drive further and longer than in Simbambili the animals were more exciting to view.

The lodge accommodation was not up to par No 'family' suites so had to house the family in two separate lodges which wasn't ideal. The guide and the trackers were fantastic and the butler too. Front office a bit odd and standoffish. The animal wildlife was the best we've seen. The food was excellent. The children's activities were very good too. Little touches were missing at this lodge (compared to pindha mountain); rucksacks and kiddie packs for the children, customised breakfasts and trips and activities which our last ranger organised for our family at pinda. There was an enormous group of visitors at the lodge during our stay and the place felt like a SAGA bus tour!! In short, fantastic safari and experience but poor lodge accommodation and too big to be '& beyond' with uniqueness.

Ngala was the absolute BEST. Every single person who works at Ngala is top notch. We have never felt so pampered in our lives. Our guide (Steve) and tracker (Norm) were the most phenomenal people and the best at what they do. They were unbelievably knowledgable and showed us much more than we ever anticipated. I can't imagine this experience without them. Our butler, Marcus, knew what we wanted before we did! The rooms were beautiful, the setting was beautiful--we were ready to move in.

This was the real highlight of our trip. It was a small camp and the staff couldnt do more to make you feel special. They greeted us on arrival, showed us to our rooms and picked us up every night to escort us to dinner (guests cant walk around the camp alone at night because of the animals). They provide every comfort you could need, the food is delicious, the guides are very knowledgeable and friendly and the decor of the camp is wonderful. A truly special experience.

I have stayed at many good hotels in my life. Ngala was a fantastic place - not because of the technical standard (it was very good) but because of the genuine atentiveness of the staff. Connie was a great personality making a difference to the lodge.
