Perched on top of the cliffs at Hermanus, The Marine has one of the southern hemisphere's most spectacular seascapes. The hotel has commanding views that extend across Walker Bay or over the beautiful internal courtyard, finely manicured gardens and the Overberg Mountains. The Marine offers guests the unique opportunity to experience the finest land-based whale watching in the world. From June to September guests are able to view these majestic creatures from the comfort of their beautiful sea view room.

The Marine is approximately 1 hour's drive from Cape Town and the winelands and a 4 ½ hour drive from the Garden Route.
Cliff walks, whale watching from boat and the shore (in season Jun - Nov), golf, swimming in the sea (directly in front of the hotel is a tidal pool where you can swim as close to 100m away from the whales), relaxing on the beach and eating out.

The hotel was beautiful , the staff were very efficient and friendly, the views were spectacular and the food was very good. The rooms were very well decorated and comfortable with lovely sea views. Janet and Don had a problem with their room ( the wardrobe door fell off and the shower didn't work) so we were quickly moved into a beautiful suite .
