Marataba Mountain Lodge is a solar-powered, Scandi-style Mountain Lodge in the Marataba reserve, a 21,000-hectare (52,000-acre), privately managed section of the Marakele National Park, in South Africa's Waterberg region. This malaria-free reserve is only 3.5 hour's drive from Johannesburg and 45 minutes by private air charter.
A remote retreat with just five Eco Suites looking down on the Waterfall Valley, the rooms offer sophisticated simplicity, without clutter to distract from where you are. There is everything you need for a (luxury) stay - king-sized bed, maxibar, Nespresso machine, wood-burning fireplace, en-suite rain shower, and shaded viewing deck. The main lodge provides more social relaxation areas and a shared Rock Pool, which seems to skim off into the Waterfall Valley below. Holiday to Marataba Mountain Lodge
Every aspect of this lodge was superb. From the accommodation to the food, the wonderful staff, the stunning location and the amazing animal sightings. We were so well looked after from morning until night and could not fault any aspect. A slice of safari heaven!
