Known as a 'world in one country' it is no surprise the weather across the vast country of South Africa varies as much as its landscapes and experiences. Regions of South Africa experience seasons opposite to those in UK, but generally the whole country has a temperate climate with plenty of sunny, dry days.
Western Cape - The warm dry season in Cape Town and the Winelands runs from November to April. Summer day time temperatures average around 25°C/77°F at the coast, with warmer temperatures inland. This is the perfect time for couples to visit the Western Cape who are all about food, wine, scenery and culture. The winter is still mild by the coast with average daytime temperatures of 16º C/61°F and 20º C/68°F inland, but with frequent rains and strong winds.
Eastern Cape - The towns and cities that lie in the Eastern Cape experience differences in weather conditions, but generally enjoy long hot summer months and mild winters. The weather in the Eastern Cape is less extreme and outdoor activities can generally be enjoyed all year. Winter is from April to August with temperatures peaking at 20º C/68°F . The Summer months see temperature highs of 26º C/79°F .
Greater Kruger Region - The Winter/ dry season in the Kruger is from May to September. During these months there is practically no rainfall and humidity is very low. Average day time temperatures are around 25°C/77°F, dropping to approximately 6°C/42°F in the mornings and evenings. The Summer / wet season is from October to April and these months see hot temperatures, heavy rain and storms. Average day time temperatures stay around 28°C/82°F.
