Matemwe Retreat is located on an amazing stretch of private land, just north of Matemwe's main lodge and right opposite the Mnemba Atoll. The Retreat consists of 4 fabulous, separate villas, all of which share a small beach. The ground floor of each villa features a private bar area, an air conditioned bedroom and a bathroom. A spacious veranda equipped with a comfortable couch and large hammock provides the perfect spot to unwind. The private roof terrace hosts a plunge pool complete with both sun and shade decks.
Though the villas are uniquely beautiful, it is the personal service at Matemwe Retreat that makes it such a remarkable place to stay. Meals can be served on your private terrace or in the gardens of Matemwe Retreat by a personal butler who will also arrange any activity desired, from a snorkelling trip or spice tour, to a lazy cocktail by the private plunge pool.
For a more sociable atmosphere, it's just a 5-10 minute walk down to the restaurant at Matemwe Lodge, where you can also relax by the bar or pool or simply interact with other guests.
Matemwe Retreat is approximately a 1 hour drive from Stone Town and the Airport.
