Asilia Sayari Camp

Found in the north of the Serengeti's vast plains, Sayari Camp is ideal for taking in the spectacle of the Great Migration. Located near the banks of the Mara River, the camp is on the doorstep of the migration route, boasting views not only of the river but the Lamai Wedge, where thousands of animals cluster prepared to begin their journey. However, game viewing is also spectacular outside of the great migration months. The area is home to well over 500 species of bird, lion, elephant and a variety of plains game. The camp employs strong conservational policies and aims to give something back, employing members of the local community at the property.

The camp is currently undergoing refurbishments, reopening in June 2020 in time for Migration river crossing season!

Accommodation will take the form of 15 tents, all with incredible views of the Serengeti plains and local wildlife. Decorated in rich copper tones that echo the surrounding landscape, each tent will have an en-suite bathroom with a romantic bath and both indoor and outdoor showers, as well as a wrap-around deck so guests can participate in 'armchair game-viewing' and take in the warm afternoon sun.

A dining and bar area and a lounge will be housed in the camp's spacious main area, surrounded by large sliding doors that look out to the vast Serengeti landscape. A pool and spa will mean guests have a place to relax after a long day of game driving through the park. The camp will also offer a library and curio shop, as well as a solar-powered micro-brewery offering tasting and tours. Exhibits will dot the main tent to offer guests a look into the local Kuria culture by displaying traditional instruments, photography and song samples from local musicians.

Upon reopening guests will be able to enjoy visits to the local Meruga Village, where one can experience the culture of the Kuria tribe. Activities at camp range from spectacular Mara River crossings, bush breakfasts observing thousands of migrating wildebeest and zebra to wild walks into the Serengeti
