Lemala Manyara

Far from the crowds and located deep inside Lake Manyara National Park, against a backdrop of Acacia woodland and boasting charming views of the lake, lies the seasonal tented camp of Lemala Manyara. In the area you can expect to see elephants, giraffe, buffalo, zebra, wildebeest and even lions which are sometimes attracted by the seasonal waterhole in front of the campfire.

Each of the camp's 8 tents and 1 family tent are furnished in a colonial style, with a radio for contacting staff if necessary, bedside table, wooden chest and 24-hour solar lighting. An en-suite bathroom with a flush toilet and a bucket shower is assessable through a flap in the rear of the tent. The floors are wooden decking and are covered in part by rugs.

The main lounge area is an ideal place to relax and prepare or rest after a game drive. In the form of a large tent, the main area comprises a dining and lounge area. All meals are served at the long dining table, which at night is candle lit for an intimate ambiance over dinner. The lounge houses comfortable chairs and a few books on hand for light reading.

How to get to Lemala Manyara

Day and night game drives as well as alfresco meals, sundowners, birding around the camp and guided walks. The Manyara hot springs are easily accessible from the camp - often the hangout for buffalo and tree-climbing lions.
