For true barefoot luxury, Mnemba Island is the perfect escape. Less than a mile in circumference, the island offers a remote and serene beach experience; surrounded by some of the best dive sights in Africa, guest can enjoy the company of prolific marine life, with turtle season around April to August time. Ardent divers will fall in love with the coral reefs around Mnemba and watersport enthusiasts will love the scuba diving, windsurfing and snorkelling. The island is ideal for honeymooners, remote, private and very romantic.
There are only 10 rooms at Mnemba, which offer rustic simplicity. The private island is surrounded by crisp white sands and lush tropical forest. In-between the rooms, there are beach beds laid out, where guests can relax during the day and enjoy the serenity of their surroundings. All rooms are en-suite, with a separate shower and toilet, with comfy beds and possess verandas to relax on. Guests should also expect mosquito nets, overhead fans and WiFi. One triple room is available and all twin beds can be converted into double beds.
Guests can enjoy a romantic candlelit dinner on the beach with beautiful fresh seafood and unwind in the thatched sitting area and bar. Although tailored more to honeymooners, two children under 12 are welcome at the lodge, with a child minding service on offer.
