Located in the remote Northern Serengeti in Tanzania, in the serene area of Kogatende, Nimali Mara Camp fits naturally into its surroundings amongst the trees and boulders. 35 minutes drive from the Mara River, Nimal Mara is within easy reach of the river and the views of the amazing wildebeest migration crossings (in season) but the camp has been strategically located away from the hustle and bustle of safari vehicles. Family-owned and managed, Nimali Mara is a small, friendly and intimate camp, best for seeing the Serengeti's iconic wildebeest migration, whilst also escaping the crowds. Even when the famous migration is not passing through, the Serengeti is well known for its vast herds of buffalo and elephants, giraffe and many predators including cheetahs, lions and hyenas.
Through its blend of natural materials, contemporary design and safari-opulence, the camp offers its guests a sense of sophisticated elegance and timelessness. An intimate camp, Nimali Mara comprises of 8 suites and 2 honeymoon / family suites. These particular suites have a private plunge pool and lounge area for honeymooners, which can be converted into a second room for families. The suites have external walls of canvas, while the front is glass. The glass maximises the views and immerses guests in nature, do the game viewing from your bed! The beds have mosquito netting, and there are bedside stands and lighting, a writing desk and chair. Other amenities include an overhead fan, a tea-and-coffee station, hairdryer, dressing gowns, fireplace, WiFi and an electronic safe. There is also fixed wooden doors, double showers, twin vanities, as well as an incredible brass bath tub, perfect for relaxing with a glass of wine and looking out at those stunning vistas. Each of the rooms opens out onto a private deck with a swing day bed to lounge on and enjoy the fantastic views. The deck is also the perfect place for a massage between your activities. From every part of the camp, you can see the spectacular scenery, from the lounge, with its wine cellar hidden in a natural cave, to the dining room with glass balconies for more uninterrupted views. Best of all is the infinity pool which is perched on top of the kopje for privacy but built into the natural rock. Perfect for relaxation in between the many activities on offer.
A stay at the eco-friendly Nimali Mara is all about immersing yourself in nature. The camp offers day and night game drives and guided walks but the wildlife will be all around the camp too. There's also the chance to enjoy one of the iconic experiences of Africa, a balloon safari. You will float gently over the Serengeti as the sun rises, watching wildlife and gliding over the endless plains. Part of the experience is the location dining, from surprise gourmet breakfasts and lunches out in the bush to sundowner cocktails and candlelit dinners at camp, there's nothing like the dining under the stars to the sights and sounds of Africa all around you. Nimali Mara Camp is a 35 minute drive from Kogatende airstrip in the north of the Serengeti. Flights from Arusha to Kogatende are one hour 15 minutes.
