Typical beach resort. Rooms are okay. Food was lovely. Beach is amazing. It did not blow us away but it was nice to be in an intimate setting given it was our honeymoon. Extremely hot and no AC in rooms was a bit on the uncomfortable side, and also having only salt water to shower with/wash hands with drove us insane. I know they are in remote location but this…

This hotel is in a idyllic setting. Staff again were friendly and helpful. The food varied from being very good to average on occasion.

earlier comments are relevant. camp is very quite and remote. accommodation is superb - only problem is bat droppings in the vicinity of some accommodation. transport to and from for optional activities is really expensive.

Pongwe is in an idyllic location. It has a wonderful laid back feeling which really helps you to relax after the rigours of the safari. The staff are all very helpful and so cheerful, and full of smiles. The cottage was great facing the beach with lovely peaceful places to sit and read and relax. Food was lovely with a varied menu every day. It would have been helpful to have…

A piece of paradise! Great rooms, amazing beach and fab food. A couple of mistakes from staff including incorrect bills etc but that's only if I'm being very fussy. Would definitely go again and have recommended to family for onward travel after our wedding at Kicheche.

Pongwe is a beautiful location. White sandy beaches and clear water. It is a beautiful place to stay. The rooms were lovely and spotless. The hotel staff were lovely and helpful, especially Steven who was in the dining room, he would organise different meals for me if the set menu included fish. He was great. The only thing about the hotel is that is a good distance to anywhere. Zanzibar town…

After a delay on the mainland due to a thunderstorm and an hours drive through the island, we were greated with a cocktail and an outstanding view of the indian ocean. We were given a full explanation of how the hotel worked, meal times, beach and pool drinks service and a warm welcome. The sea view room was functional and clean. The brackish showers were no problem and bottled water was…

Great beach, great rooms. There is nothing to do at night so a TV in the room (for DVDs) would have been nice. Also, the food service is REALLY slow. Granted I have nothing to do, but I do not want to spend 2 hours sitting waiting for lunch. Also, we went snorkeling, which was expensive, and not really a snorkel trip. I didnt want to…
