Found on the banks of the Rufiji River, in the vast wilderness of the Selous Game Reserve, Sand Rivers is a camp of rustic luxury. Possessing incredibly comfortable rooms that are open to the elements, guests can expect an authentic wilderness experience laced with the exclusivity and service the camp has become known for.

Managers Steve and Lynn are wonderfully accommodating and ensure your stay is a memorable one, with romantic dinners spent under the stars, followed by drinks and laughs in the open lounge. Adjacent to the lounge and main area is the open air swimming pool, a perfect vantage point from which to view game at your leisure. Walking safaris can be particularly exhilarating; encountering elephant on-foot is guaranteed to be an adrenaline charged experience. Please note the camp is closed from mid-March to end of the end of May.

We were there 4 nights and felt like we were leaving friends when we left! Can't fault it.
We absolutely loved this camp, and the area in general. Jeff and Ilze were amazing hosts and really great company - you can tell they really love what they do. We really loved how isolated and wild the Selous is - landing on a red dirt airstrip with nothing else in sight was an amazing start to the adventure! Our guide, Hermide, was fantastic and unbelievably knowledgeable. We saw so…
