Serengeti Sopa Lodge

The Serengeti Sopa Lodge is a good value lodge nestled in the acacia woodland on the edge of the escarpment overlooking the plains of the south-western Serengeti National Park. A large amount of game can be seen in close proximity to the lodge, thanks to the year-round water and surrounding acacia woodland. Whilst the decor could be considered rather gaudy and not particularly stylish, it is a clean and friendly hotel with an excellent position and brilliant views.

The Serengeti Sopa Lodge offers 69 standard rooms, all with 2 queen size beds and furnished with local fabrics and pictures. There is also a lounge with a mini bar and a verandah with 2 comfortable chairs and coffee table. Glass windows face the vast Serengeti plains. There are also 4 spacious, double storey suites including a bathtub facing the plains and an outside open shower.

The facilities on offer are what you would expect from a hotel this size including a lounge, dining area and bar as well as a large swimming pool, an outside gym, TV room and curio shop. The hotel serves tasty and hearty meals usually served in a buffet style (dinners can be a la carte) and is of a reasonable standard, catering to European / American tastes.
